Future Resources — Taunton’s oldest computer shop, for many years the little black-and-green FR Computers shop on Bridge Street — is now part of The TA1 Computer Shop and The TA1 Mac Store, Taunton’s family-run computer and Apple Mac specialists.

After a lifetime looking after the town’s computers, Rod has retired — and he couldn’t have left you in better hands. Remember the little kid who used to work in the back of the shop? That’s Denis. He grew up in the trade, and today he and the family team carry on just where Rod left off.

Since the beginning

The story

Future Resources is the oldest established computer shop in Taunton. For decades, people here have brought us their computers and Apple Macs — to be mended, upgraded, or replaced with something better suited — and then told their friends about us afterwards. That word of mouth is the whole business.

The shop is now owned and run by the family behind The TA1 Computer Shop and The TA1 Mac Store, who repair and refurbish around a hundred machines every month — for customers across Somerset, and for other computer shops around the country who send them the jobs they can’t do themselves. It’s the kind of careful, hands-on work few places still offer, and it means your computer is in very capable hands.
